Scholarship, Leadership, Character, Musicianship, & Service…  Music Makes a Difference!!!

Plantation Park Singers Chorus is a fun, honorary, academic enrichment program that fosters individual growth through beautiful singing. The choir performs 2-3 major concerts per year & rehearses after school 1-2 days per week. PPE’s Chorus has earned 1st Place &/or Superior ratings at state & local music competitions since 2000, & is well-known throughout Florida. Chorus is open to students in grades 3, 4, & 5 who demonstrate enthusiasm for singing, good behavior, strong academic achievement*, & responsibility in music class. Vocal screenings take place annually during general music classes in the first two weeks of school. Every child’s ability to sing pitches in both the lower and higher registers is assessed as part of the general music grade. Typically, Mrs. Greggs Invites 75 students- 25 in each grade 3 through 5- to join Chorus in early September. Informational meetings are planned in early September for prospective choristers & their parents/guardians.  All parents or a representative must attend one meeting and complete our online sign-up form to register their child for Chorus. Any students who wish to participate, but do not receive invitations, are placed on a waiting list. When an opening occurs, Mrs. Greggs selects someone from the Waiting List to fill that opening.

Chorus meets Thursdays, some Wednesdays, & occasional Fridays. Typically, each year an out-of-county performance trip is planned. If you receive an invitation, please complete the on-line registration by October 1. All $25 registration & $30 uniform rental donations (or financial assistance applications) should also be placed in the PPSBA lock-box in the music room by October 1. Formal uniform fittings will occur during rehearsals in October, & uniforms will be sent home once your child’s donations are received & processed. Choristers will wear their uniforms for the annual Fall Sing-a-Thon and Mini-Concert in November..

Fall and Spring Sing-a-Thon's raise money for the choir, general music program, and service projects.

“PPSBA” stands for Plantation Park Singers Booster Association. See PPSBA Chorus Boosters in the header menu for the next meeting date. All chorus parents should please attend. We welcome & need parent help! Thank you for your time, input, support & contributions. YOUR INVOLVEMENT inspires your children to strive for excellence!  Questions?
