Summer 2010 was an amazing year at MusicMakers! Summer Camp in Coral Springs, FL. As if the 60+ children’s musical performances after just 8 days of instruction weren’t impressive enough, Umoja and Malcolm McNeish wowed audiences at both finale shows with live performances of their own original tunes for violin in jazz style. They also treated the kids to a live demonstration and question/ answer session during one of their MusicMakers! recital times.
On Jan. 19, 2012, the duo known as “Sons of My-Stro” were featured on the Miami Heat’s Introductory video at Miami Arena. Both brothers attend(ed) Parkway Middle School of the Arts and Dillard Performing Arts High School in Broward County. MusicMakers! was their first public appearance other than school and church functions. Congrats Umoja and Malcolm!!! We all knew you would MAKE IT BIG!!! Ms. Nicole is very proud and happy for you!!!
