Wanna ROCK this summer? MusicMakers! Summer Camp is a unique performing arts program for kids of all ages! Each session thrills campers with active learning in singing, percussion, keyboard, string orchestra, woodwinds, choreography, & music reading. All experience levels welcome! Creative movement, arts & crafts, games, Spirit Days, & water balloon wars- plus FREE recitals & finale concerts- add even more fun & excitement! MusicMakers! Summer 2015 Programs

  1. June 15-July 2 (3 weeks- closed July 3)- “Serendipity Composer & Artist Showcase!” –Discover your inner creativity! Using string, percussion, and woodwind instruments with singing, acting, and movement, campers will compose, arrange, and perform an original musical based on a camper-selected theme. No music experience needed! In addition, students will complete 2- and 3-dimensional art projects including acrylic painting and sculptural mask-making to be displayed during our Finale Concert Wednesday, July 1 at 7pm* ($5 optional donation per person to benefit a local charity chosen by campers & staff). Recital Friday June 19 at 1:30pm. Artistic & musical volunteers needed!
  2. July 6 – July 17 (2 weeks)- “BITS OF BROADWAY!”- Love Broadway music? Delight audiences with highlights from over 100 years of hit Broadway musicals! From the early 1900s to now, this choral revue features multiple vocal solo and dance opportunities for the outgoing, as well as choral gems with spectacular choreography and costumes. From Annie, Grease, & The Sound of Music to Rent, Wicked, Hairspray, and Into the Woods, this session promises a favorite tune for everyone! Recital Friday, July 10 at 1:30pm; Finale Concert Thursday, July 16 at 7pm* ($5 optional donation per person to benefit a local charity chosen by campers & staff).

GENERAL INFORMATION:

  • Regular Camp Hours/ Tuition– Monday- Friday 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. • Ages 6 to 14; $350 for session 1 (3 weeks), $240 for session II (2 weeks), or $125/week, plus $10 per week cash supply fee, payable at Open House Friday June 12 from 3:30-5:30pm or on first day of each camp session. Water balloon war held last day of each session. Costumes may involve a nominal extra charge.
  • Extended Hours/ Tuition– Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:30pm • Ages 6 to 14; $25 per week additional or $5 per day, payable in cash or check to camp director on first day of each session.   • Register online at musicmakerscamp.comthen bring completed forms to pay at Coral Springs Gymnasium.
  • Scholarships & Early Bird/Sibling Discount:1 child- $15 off each session if paid in full by April 15! No discount for weekly attendance. 2 or more children anytime- $15 off per session per child. Discounts cannot be combined. Scholarships available; deadline to apply April 15 (application form available online).
  • We Love Our Volunteers!Artistic & musical assistants needed! High-schoolers can earn up to 250 service hours from June 8-July 17! Complete information & application online at musicmakerscamp.com (click volunteers tab); deadline April 15 annually.   • Pay It Forward-  MusicMakers!has contributed over $1,200 in Finale Concert donations to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Broward County Humane Society, & Alex’s Lemonade Stand since 2012. Staff & campers will cast their votes for this year’s charity at Open House on June 12.
  • Year-Round Vocal Coaching- Nicole M. Greggs (NBCT, 2008 Broward County Arts Teacher of the Year, 2006 Broward County Teacher of the Year Finalist/ Runner-Up, Master of Arts in Teaching (Vocal Performance, Choral Conducting), FAU ’97; Bachelor of Music Education, U of Miami, ‘91) teaches private vocal lessons and music theory year-round. Optional Hot Lunch Program:

  • McDonald’s Monday;   Taco Bell Tuesday;   Wendy’s Wednesday;   Subway Thursday;   Pizza Friday (Papa John’s)
  • $30/week includes a kid’s meal and drink each day.
  • Or, pay $7 per day ($6 per day for Pizza Fridays) each morning at sign-in if you only want certain restaurants
  • Or, bring your own lunch if you prefer not to participate. It’s completely up to you!
